Monica Ritterband has for Morsø Jernstøberi A/S created a unique series of round woodstoves with a gigantic view of the flames. The large glass window is the largest in the history of Morsø.
»My idea was to create a woodstove with organically rounded curves. It is only in cast iron that you can make round edges. My ambition was to provide as large a view of the fire as it was possible to construct – and that was somewhat of a technical challenge«.
The woodstove ended up being in four versions: on a base, on the floor, on feet, and hung on the wall, and they are sold in most of the world.
In 2009 it was nominated for the woodstove »Oscar« – »The Vesta Awards« in the category for most beautiful design.
In 2010 the woodstove series won the prestigious international »red dot design award«.
